We’re excited to announce that we are taking part in the BC Government’s Buy Local Program. Together we are partnering to promote local food.
What is the BC Buy Local Program?
The BC Government is investing 8 million in the BC Buy Local Program to support food security and local farmers, processors and manufacturers such as ourselves. The goal is to build the market for B.C.’s amazing local foods.
Our Local Story
We’ve been part of the local food scene for twenty years. Back in 1996, our co-founders Ian Walker and Jason Dorland started making natural nut butters and selling them on weekends at Vancouver’s Granville Island Market. We’ve been making snacks and granolas locally ever since.

Our organic Hippie Foods are made right here in Burnaby, BC.
We’re proud of the diverse, world-class foods BC produces and are grateful for the support of BC Buy Local. Through initiatives like this, we can do our part to help the industry grow and become more sustainable.
Over the next while you’ll see more locally themed content from us as we want to get the word out about why local is so important. Keep an eye out for this hashtag and support local! #BCBuyLocal
This project is supported by the BC Government’s Buy Local Program; delivered by the Investment Agriculture Foundation of BC with funding from the Government of British Columbia.
Awesome to see. Looking forward to hearing more about your partnership.
